The weather has been terrible. One moment its humid and hot the next it's pouring down rain, however still humid!
Spent the day out with my father, who has returned home for a couple of days after being away for a month or so. We caught up by doing a bit of shopping for both him and i, were i purchased a new shade of lipstick ! I'm in love with Rimmels lasting finish lipstick as not only is it affordable, it has a variety of shades to choose from. I got number 120 in "cutting edge", which is a deep purple kind of shade suitable for days where i wake up wanting to be a rocker.

Spent most of my day inside sewing up a storm with a recent purchase of a singlet pattern from my local op shop store !
I believe that it is essential that all closets have singlets in different colours, due to their versatility to be dressed up or dressed down.
I decided to add colour into my dull closet with shades of black, navy, beige and grey.

Cannot wait to wear/style these babies.
Just in time for uni !

each time is a new time

It's always exciting to have new jewellery to add to my ever-so-growing collection.
A lovely friend of mine went for a trip to Sydney a few months back and had purchased me these 2 pieces as a gift.
This will be the first necklace/choker I'll be owning, as i am not fond of things dangling from my neck or sitting on my collarbone awkwardly. However, i was quite excited to wear this piece as i had ideas on how to style it. It is apparent that the necklace was meant to sit very high on the neckline and i had the notion of pairing it with a high collar button up shirt to give off an embellished feature on the neckline of the top. It's so versatile of being able to be used as a necklace or even as a feature on a garment.

Made a gift for a very close friend after it had been months since I've last spoken/hung/seen her.
I knew she liked carrying a little purse that was able to hold her essentials when she goes out such as her phone, money and cards. Something small but fashionable that she can carry with her to any occasion whilst dressed in anything.

This little purse was made out of faux black leather with a gold statement zip.

Outfit of the day : black cropped top, velvet maroon skirt paired with black doc marten shoes and to top it off with black accessories.
Hung out at the Gallery of Modern Arts for the day and then enjoyed refreshments at a local Mexican restaurant/bar in Southbank during the evening.

been here before

Just finished a project that was set at the start of last month.
A friend of mine approached me with an idea to create a menswear piece for him. At first i was rather skeptical with this proposal since i have not done menswear and do not plan to do so in the future, but the challenge and he's eager to represent a piece I've made myself was what got me to take it on board.
The design and concept were all designed by my friend. He chose to have contrasting colours of grey and white due to its neutral elements when it comes to styling.
The hardest part of making this was finding the right pattern in order to achieve the slim fitting look. He wanted darts on the back as he has a slimmer torso than most guys. Also there were limited mens pattern at Spotlight and they all seemed to not fit the idea my friend wanted. Luckily as i was browsing in an op shop, i found an old second hand pattern that was perfect for the shirt and the rest was history.
