the haunted tea rooms

A casual day out with the family to embrace the only sunlight we've received this week. Not long to go til I am officially on holidays and can get my act together with my long list of sewing and designing new clothes for my closet. I've been adding new items here and there however I'm always feeling as though it is still empty. I especially hate it when I buy something and when I get home I  never end up wearing it and eventually the refund dates expires and I'm left with a garment I'm not satisfied with. This always happens whenever I buy T-shirts, it is so hard to find a nice T-shirt that could just go with jeans, skirts, and shorts. I usually buy a basic T-shirt and when I try it on with things in my closet it throws off my outfit. I think it's because T-shirts are too casual ? Or It could only be my styling of them. Still, I wish I was able to style them nicely, maybe some tips on this would be helpful? How do you wear your shirts?

ignore the machine

It has been one of those weeks where all you want to do on a Saturday night is lay in bed with a hot cup of tea watching a marathon of Fact or Fake: Paranormal Files. Or maybe it's just me and my ridiculous obsession with the paranormal stuff.
I could honestly say that I am one of the worst person to catch up with in terms of grabbing a coffee or a dinner date. I've promised to catch up with so many of my high school friends and have never been able to contact back with a definite date or answer. Life at the moment feels completely hectic and busy and no-one seems to see it except me. Everyday consists of Fashion college, fashion college, fashion college and exercising the stress away. To add to this, all my friends are currently on break for a month and I still have 2 weeks left and I only have a 2 week break. The even sadder news is that during the break I shall be working on some projects such as designing a bridal gown and running some fashion shoots down at the races, having no rest time at all! Life seems pretty hectic but it's what keeps me going. In the end i know it'll all be worth it. So I sincerely apologise to many who I've left hanging cause I know you do read my blog, I will make it up to you very soon.

fly on the windscreen

I recently dug up these old pair of black jeans from my mothers closet and have been convinced into buying new jeans. This might sound a bit crazy, but I do not own any pair of jeans. A good reason would be because I don't like denim pants or skirts, as I am terrible at styling with them. The only jean pants I would consider wearing would be black and possibly maroon. I've also been looking around to find myself the right pair, as the one I'm currently wearing fit very well around the hip however is very loose on my waist. I think the best investment would be to purchase a trouser pattern and make them myself or get them tailored made. Either way I've been sold on black jeans !

people in her mind

Hooray for the long weekend that will be spent catching up on sleep, with friends and the load of home work I've got piled up on my desk.
I will also be catching up on some sewing as I am running out of the basic garments required to layer up for the winter season. Been living off of black tights for the last week or so, as they're just so easy to dress with and go great with skirts. This also gives me good excuse to wear skirts during the winter, without looking like an idiot.

lost in the trees

I believe Australia is now into the winter season, as the cold front moves through the city. I've been so behind on updating my blog due to the immense work load I've had to juggle last week. I've finally finished my restyle denim project and cannot wait to find my phone camera plug to show the documented process of the project. The week flew by so fast and I still ended up not being able to complete my dress for the races next week, and a white blouse I've been longing to make for the winter. I literally have no clothing in my wardrobe at the moment, as I raided and threw out over half of my clothing due to it being too big or i just did not wear it enough. This also means that I must go shopping to refill the empty closet of mine, which won't be a hard task! Sales for the end of financial year is coming up this week or so, and I cannot wait to add new pieces into my closet either from retail or my own designs.
